WEGI Achieves Bill 124 Compliance - September 23, 2005 |
Through a concerted effort on the part of key staff members, Wiebe Engineering Group has achieved compliance with Bill 124, well ahead of the implementation date of January 1, 2006.
This bill requires designers to pass ministry-approved exams in order to demonstrate knowledge of those areas of the Ontario Building Code pertaining to the designer's scope of practice. It also imposes minimum limits on liability insurance coverage for design firms.
Over the winter and spring months of 2005, David Coon, P.Eng. and Brett McCrindle, P.Eng. spent long hours studying for the various ministry exams pertaining to their respective areas of practice. As a result of their efforts and a revised insurance policy, Wiebe Engineering Group is now registered to provide design services in the following areas of practice:
- Building Structural
- House
- Small Buildings
- Large Buildings
- Complex Buildings
- On-Site Sewage
A certificate from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing listing the classes of registration will be proudly displayed in our Brantford office.
